Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of company's payroll, provide timely and accurate information, participate in daily correspondence with physicians. Payroll specialist will partner with Physician Engagement team to ensure that all physician hours are recorded in our system to ensure an accurate deposit. This position will nurture relationships with other departments in accordance with the Vision and Core Values of Ob Hospitalist Group.
I. Position Responsibilities:
o Perform daily payroll department operations
o Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
o Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
o Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
o Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.
o Manage multistate taxes on physicians working in multi states.
o Reconcile accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W2, W2c, etc.)
o Partner with Physician Engagement team to maximize the training of physician's timely recording of hours.
o Develop strong relationships with the Accounting team and be available to answer monthly questions regarding the activity of your payroll.
o Track and report hours worked and paid
o Load import files received from HR.
o Research any unresolved tax issue
o Monitor the 401K deductions and accept and approve the file from BB&T.
o Other related duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
II. Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
o Three plus years of Payroll Experience
o Ability to problem solve, apply reason, take initiative, use judgment, and perform multiple concurrent tasks.
o A self-starter with a positive "can do" attitude.
o Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
o Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
o Strong knowledge federal and state regulations.
o Working knowledge of ADP (WFN) and Time & Attendance.
o Highly creative. Will bring new ideas to the Payroll team.
o A collaborative "team player" who has strong relationship building skills. Must be able to relate well to individuals at various levels.
o Highly ethical and trustworthy, unwavering integrity.
o Clear understanding of multistate taxation.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
